CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa and SUGA revealed the story of how they became close.
On January 15, Jung Yong Hwa appeared as a special guest on SUGA's 'Suchwita (Time to Drink with SUGA)' and surprised fans with their unexpected friendship.
On this day, the two revealed the story of how they became friends, and Jung Yong Hwa gave his account of his impression of BTS when they first met.
SUGA kick-started the conversation by saying, "We should talk about how we became friends," and Yong Hwa shared, "It was a long time ago...I was promoting 'One Fine Day' and you were promoting 'I NEED U,' in 2015."
Jung Yong Hwa continued, "'One Fine Day' was my first solo song and I felt a little lonely on my own. I was like, 'I'm feeling kind of lonely' so I went backstage and BTS was there. Back then, you were really... you were going up (as rising stars)." SUGA jokingly added, "Things were just starting up after two albums tanking."
Jung Yong Hwa shared, "But even before that when I was living with the members, we'd talk about BTS. We would say 'Hey, isn't there something different about them?' So I got curious since we were promoting at the same time. I was curious about you guys. So I just went up to you and asked, 'What do you do on days off?' That's what I asked."
He went on to say, "I asked 'What do you do on days off?' and you said 'We write songs.' or 'We work.' Younger artists don't usually say that. Usually, it's something like 'The agency doesn't give us days off...' or 'We can't go out to hang out.' 90% of the answers are like that."
Jung Yong Hwa continued to praise BTS saying, "But you guys...(were different) and I knew you'd just make it big." He then half-jokingly added, "So I figured I should get closer to you. That's what I thought," making SUGA burst out laughing.
People who met younger BTS had the impressions that they will make it BIG someday !!! Guess it's their work attitude and talent that makes them different.
