Song Kang, the 'Romance Craftsman', Adds Another Gem to His Filmography

Song Kang has once again left a mark in the world of romantic dramas with the successful conclusion of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'My Demon', which aired its final episode on the 20th amid much love and attention from viewers.

In 'My Demon', directed by Jang Han Kim and written by Ah-Il Choi, Kang portrayed 'Jung Gu-Won', a devil whose existence is both fatal and flawless. Over 200 years, he engages in dangerous yet sweet deals using human souls as collateral, reigning as a top predator. However, the story takes a turn when Gu-Won falls in love with the seemingly insignificant human 'Do Do-Hee' (played by Yu-Jung Kim). His portrayal of this transition, especially his tearful performance embracing the deceased Wol-Sim (Yu-Jung Kim), left a deep emotional impact on the audience. Moreover, Gu-Won's intense romance includes saving Do-Hee by making a sacrificial deal with her father before her birth and choosing to vanish himself to save her from a deadly situation caused by No Seok-Min (Tae-Hoon Kim).

Song Kang conveyed his final thoughts, expressing gratitude and cherishing the memories of shooting 'My Demon'. 'The time has flown by, and now 'My Demon' has ended. As with all my works, I filmed 'My Demon' with happy memories, and I am always grateful for the love it received. I am happy and thankful for the memories created during the long period of about 7 months. I will treasure the affection, support, and interest sent by the viewers and fans. I hope you will remember and love 'My Demon' for a long time. Thank you!' he said, sharing his affectionate sentiments.

For his role as 'Jung Gu-Won', Song Kang meticulously studied the script and practiced extensively, enhancing the charm quotient with his deep gaze, visuals, and crisp action sequences, thus transforming himself into 'Gu-Won himself'. This has led to another completed chapter in his romance filmography, raising expectations for the future endeavors of this 'Romance Craftsman'.

i don't watch romantic korean dramas...so a question for the viewers:
Is his acting still as stoic and wooden as it always is (as evident on Sweet Home) or has he learned to show more emotions now than being upset, unbothered and sad?
