Former B.A.P member Himchan is facing a 7-year prison sentence for sexual offenses.

On January 16, Himchan attended the final hearing at the Seoul Western District Court for his sexual offenses, and prosecution demanded a 7-year prison sentence against the former idol as well as a 10-year employment limit at institutions related to children, adolescents, and the disabled, 3 years with mandatory tracking device, 4 years of probation, and an order to complete a sexual violence treatment program. He's currently indicted on the charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, including filming without consent, obscene acts using communication media, and more.

As previously reported, Himchan is involved in 3 sexual offense cases. He was sentenced to 10 months of jail time for sexual harassment, and he later requested the combination of his 2 other cases, including one for allegedly molesting two women at a bar and one for illicit filming and obscene acts. 

Prosecution stated, "We took into account the fact that the victims suffered very severe mental pain due to the crime, committed another crime of forced harassment during the trial of a separate crime of forced harassment, and confirmed the risk of recidivism. The impact of idol singers on teenagers should also be taken into account."

In his final statement, Himchan expressed, "I'm sorry for causing a stir in society. I'm sorry to the victims who are probably hurting and suffering the most. I found I was wrong while completing the sex education program. I ask for the utmost leniency."

The sentencing date for Himchan is scheduled for February 1 at 10AM KST.
