Lee Sun Gyun, recently interrogated overnight for drug use allegations, has requested a polygraph test to clarify his innocence.
According to legal circles on December 26th, Lee, accused of marijuana and psychotropic drug use under the Narcotics Control Law, submitted a statement through his attorney to the Drug Crime Investigation Unit of the Incheon Police Station, requesting a lie detector examination.
Lee's attorney, in an interview with Yonhap News, said, "The last third interrogation was essentially a confrontation. The police conducted the questioning based on 'A's statements, asking for Lee's opinions." The attorney emphasized the unfairness of the situation, "If 'A's statements were true, the National Forensic Service's precise examination should have also returned positive results, but Lee received a negative result. In such an unjust situation, it is necessary to scientifically verify who is telling the truth by having 'A' also undergo the lie detector test."
Additionally, Lee's attorney mentioned the burden of appearing again at the police station and added that the polygraph test should be conducted privately.
The police are considering Lee's request and are expected to decide soon whether to conduct the polygraph test.
Lee Sun-kyun is accused of using marijuana multiple times at the home of a nightclub manager 'A'. In previous police investigations, Lee claimed he was deceived by 'A' and was unaware of receiving drugs. Lee has tested negative for narcotics in preliminary drug tests and detailed examinations by the National Forensic Service.
Police have been investigating or internally examining 10 individuals for drug use, including Lee Sun Gyun. Among them, singer G-Dragon was not charged with any offense. A plastic surgeon 'B' from Gangnam, accused of supplying drugs to Lee Sun Gyun and others through nightclub manager 'A', was arrested after a second warrant review on December 20th.
btw his so called acknowledgement of usage was taken out of context as he was accompanied by his lawyers and answered to all questions with ‘I don’t know’ It was in regular press, statement from his lawyers.
