Authorities have successfully apprehended the accomplice of 'A,' an establishment manager allegedly involved in blackmailing actor Lee Sun Gyun.
Lee Sun Gyun is currently under investigation both as an offender and a victim. On the offender side, he is facing suspicions of violating the Narcotics Control Act by partaking in illegal drug use, while on the victim side, he is involved in a blackmailing incident with an entertainment establishment manager, 'A'.
According to police on the 23rd, the Incheon Nonhyeon Police's Drug Crime Investigation Team recently applied for a preliminary arrest warrant for 'B' on suspicion of blackmail. A preliminary arrest warrant is a warrant police request to the court when the suspect is on the run so that the regular arrest warrant is inapplicable.
It was reported that the police recently identified 'B' and called him in as a suspect to investigate. However, the investigation is still ongoing and the police are unable to provide further details.
'B' is a new suspect who is not included in the 10 people the police have investigated or summoned in this case, and his pre-arrest interrogation for the warrant will be held at the Incheon District Court on the 26th.
'B' is suspected of blackmailing Lee Sun Gyun along with 'A' to obtain 350 million KRW. Lee Sun Gyun reportedly asked an acquaintance for cash and handed over 300 million KRW to 'A' and 50 million won to 'B.'
Meanwhile, Lee Sun Gyun was released from his third police questioning on the morning of December 24th around 5 AM KST. The police plan to cross-examine Lee Sun Gyun's statements from this interrogation with the evidence they have already secured, and then decide whether to send him to the prosecution without further summons.
After completing the third interrogation, Lee Sun Gyun said, "Today, I completed the interrogation as a victim/complainant of the extortion case. I hope the police will make a good judgment on whose statement is more credible."
When asked about his drug offenses, he curtly responded, "I told the police everything in good faith today."
If the police still trusts 'A' after the whole mess with GD... okay, no, I don't wanna curse.
