SBS has officially announced the discontinuation of the VOD (replay) service for the 'Unanswered Questions' for their FIFTY FIFTY episode. The network stated on November 21 KST, that they have ceased offering the VOD service for this particular episode and have removed related content from their platform. SBS also clarified that they have not received any information regarding the production or broadcasting of a follow-up to this episode, nor have they received any additional communication from the production team.
The FIFTY FIFTY episode, which focused on the dispute between ATTRAKT and The Givers, commonly known as the 'FIFTY FIFTY Incident,' was broadcast on August 19. However, it faced criticism for presenting only one side of the argument, leading to concerns about its credibility. During the episode, allegations of manipulation emerged during interviews conducted by the production team of 'Unanswered Questions,' further eroding public trust in the program.
This controversy has led to public calls for the episode to be abolished and even boycotts against the program. Consequently, the production team decided to halt the exposure of content related to the FIFTY FIFTY episode through the VOD service.
Despite previous statements from the production team about the possibility of a follow-up episode, they have not addressed the ongoing situation or shown any sign of taking responsibility for the program's credibility issues. Once hailed as a beloved national program, 'Unanswered Questions' now finds itself alienated from its audience. The public is left wondering when the production team will issue a statement regarding the episode's future.
That episode exposed them for their poor investigation process thus undermining the programme’s credibility so I’m not surprised they took it down; I also think it probably opened them up to being sued so that also might be a factor in their decision.
The chances they do a follow up is as much as me winning the Lotto, next to never.
