Netizens speculated the reasons why media outlets continue to report false news about G-Dragon.
With the Korean media outlets continuusly adding fuel to G-Dragon's current drug investigation by reporting false or unconfirmed news, netizens speculated some reasons why this might be the case Just recently, media outlets published bold titles claiming that G-Dragon had shaved his entire body before a drug test, which was quickly proven to be false by the police department. G-Dragon will be taking legal action against the media outlets who reported this false information.
Below are some reasons that the netizens came up with, to explain why the media seems to be continously reporting false information in this situation.
1. The number of views that the news related to G-Dragon get: News related to G-Dragon allegedly shaving his entire body before a drug test received 2.42 million views, which compares to other news videos that received only about 50,000 views.
2. The number of views that true reports receive are significantly lower than false reports
Netizens commented:
"His hair is long like that, and his eyelashes are normal, so I asked why his shaving his body was important, and I was accused to shielding him. People have a set answer and if they don't hear what they want, they attack you."
"Journalists just go over to online community forums to write stories from lately."
"MBC broadcast station did those [false reports]? Wow. We really can't just blindly trust the media."
"So evil. THe results didn't even come out and how can they do that?"
"They're really too much."
"G-Dragon probably received a lot of wounds from this incident."
"I support G-Dragon."
Let's not forget that he didn't have to give them anything at all, because the police don't have any sort of warrant on him. Everything he is doing is completely voluntary. He has even offered to go back and give more samples when his hair grows longer, if it's necessary. He is doing everything within reason to aid this investigation. And before anyone says, "He didn't hand over his phone", that was clearly the right decision, because given the leaks between the police and the media, every bit of his personal business would have been spread online within 24-48 hours.
