'Dispatch' exposes how Lee Sun Gyun & G-Dragon were looped into a drug investigation without proper evidence

Media outlet 'Dispatch' has uncovered the trail which led the Incheon Metropolitan Police to summon two high-profile celebrities, Lee Sun Gyun and G-Dragon, for a series of widely publicized drug investigations without proper evidence.

According to 'Dispatch', everything began with 'K', a contracted employee for an adult entertainment establishment known as 'G'.

In August of 2023, 'K' began taking measures to cover up her illegal drug use with a close acquaintance, 'L'. With at least 5 past charges related to drug use, 'K' was sure to face extended time in prison if booked this time.

In September, an individual known as 'S', an ex-boyfriend of 'L', tipped 'K' off to the police for drug use.

A few days later, 'K' contacted Lee Sun Gyun, claiming that her phone had been hacked. 'K' proceeded to threaten Lee Sun Gyun, alleging that the hacker had information about Lee's use of drugs such as "ketamine" and "marijuana", and that they were demanding 300 million KRW (~ $230,000 USD) as payoff.

When Lee Sun Gyun did not bite right away, 'K' threatened to "turn in her phone" to the police. Before long, Lee Sun Gyun delivered the requested money, 300 million KRW, through an acquaintance.

After pocketing Lee Sun Gyun's 300 million KRW, 'K' was booked for drug use in October. The police, having obtained the messages exchanged between Lee Sun Gyun and 'K', proceeded to "investigate" Lee Sun Gyun for drug use.

Meanwhile, also stored in 'K's phone was footage of G-Dragon at the establishment, 'G', some time last year. 'K' boasted to a friend that G-Dragon had visited her workplace, and that she had filmed him without consent despite requests by G-Dragon's party that no filming was allowed.

Based on 'K's phone records, she frequently boasted of her encounters with numerous celebrities who visited her workplace, 'G', to her friends and acquaintances. A thorough search through her phone records showed that 'K' has mentioned more than 10 celebrities.

However, the police only chose to investigate G-Dragon. Other celebrities such as 'J' and 'Y', who also appeared to be regular customers at the establishment, 'G', never made it into the line of investigation.

Finally, 'Dispatch' questioned why the police felt it was so urgent to bring in Lee Sun Gyun and G-Dragon for "investigation", instead of directing the investigation in another direction - such as searching for the identity of this "hacker" who apparently obtained information about Lee Sun Gyun through 'K's phone.

According to 'Dispatch', the ongoing investigation surrounding 'K' (pictured below) has more or less nothing to do with the celebrities she may have had contact with at her workplace. There are connections between 'K' and a number of other individuals, including chaebol family members and names from other industries, but so far, the police have failed to direct their energy to the right place.

I can see where they might have cause to at least question Lee Sun Gyun, because he did pay blackmail money, but the accusation against G Dragon was tenuous at best. Even if the police decided to be thorough and investigate both men, they should have investigated everyone else involved as well and nothing should have been leaked to the media.

They should never release information to the media before they get any evidence
