On the evening of the 28th, the '2023 MAMA Awards' were hosted at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. This year's two-day event was notably the first K-pop awards ceremony held at this iconic venue.
During this momentous event, BTS won the 'Worldwide Icon of the Year' award for the sixth year in a row, further solidifying their top-tier status in the music industry. They also clinched the 'Worldwide Fans' Choice' award, adding two more trophies to their collection for the evening.
Jungkook, the group's youngest member, extended his thanks via a pre-recorded video. He said, "ARMY, we have won 'Worldwide Icon of the Year' at the 2023 MAMA Awards once again. It's our sixth time as the main act. We are immensely grateful for our ARMY's steadfast love."
