Bolbbalgan4, often abbreviated as BOL4, is a South Korean indie pop duo known for their distinctively sweet and youthful sound. Originally formed in 2016, the duo initially consisted of Ahn Ji-young and Woo Ji-yoon, who met in high school and began their musical journey together. They gained popularity with their unique blend of indie, folk, and pop elements, characterized by Ji-young's clear, melodious vocals and Ji-yoon's instrumental skills.
Bolbbalgan4 achieved significant success with hits like "Galaxy" and "Travel," which resonated with a wide audience, particularly among young listeners. Their music often explores themes of love, youth, and the complexities of growing up, striking a chord with their fans. Over the years, the duo has been recognized with several awards and nominations, solidifying their position in the Korean music industry.
In April 2020, Woo Ji-yoon left the group, and since then, Ahn Ji-young has continued Bolbbalgan4 as a solo project under the same name, maintaining the duo's original essence while exploring new musical directions.
