Song Joong Ki recently attended the 28th Busan International Film Festival, held on October 6 at KNN Theater in Haeundae-gu, Busan. He graced the Actors House event in conjunction with his latest film, 'Hwaran,' which he was excited to discuss and share with the audience.
The venue was brimming with fans and reporters who eagerly gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor. Their enthusiastic cheers filled the theater as Song Joong Ki made his appearance; he reciprocated their excitement with a warm smile and pleasant demeanor.
He shared, "I enjoy conversations with the audience. I like being in a place where I can communicate directly with the audience. I always feel excited and thrilled at film festivals because it's a unique opportunity. I want to have a drink and chat with the audience." His words received a warm response.
In his personal news, Song Joong Ki married British actress Kate Louise Saunders in January and became a father to their son five months later, in June. As a new father, he expressed his thoughts on the recent changes in his life. He shared, "My son is now over 100 days old. I've realized the importance of being responsible as a father, not just as a public figure, as an actor."
He continued, "As an actor, I am reflecting on how I can be more respectable and approach my work with that mindset. When I re-watched the edited version of 'Hwaran,' it occurred to me that adults are indeed responsible for passing on a better world to the next generation."
'Hwaran' is a noir drama that delves into the life of a young boy, Yeon Kyu, trapped in a torturous reality. After befriending Chigeon, the middle boss of a sinister organization, Yeon Kyu ventures into a precarious new world. 'Hwaran' had the honor of being invited to the 'Noteworthy Gaze' section of the 76th Cannes Film Festival this year. In the film, Song Joong Ki adapts to the character of 'Chigeon,' the middle boss leading a challenging life.
People seem to have a weird hate on for him. Maybe part of the problem is interviewers asking about people's personal lives.
