Fans have observed an anomaly regarding Tzuyu, one of TWICE's most followed members on Instagram. Despite her significant online presence, visual appeal, and broad recognition—even among non-fans—Tzuyu has surprisingly not had any individual promotions in 2023. While other members have been engaged with unit and solo debuts, time constraints do not appear to be a factor for Tzuyu's absence from individual projects. Fans have voiced their concerns and frustrations, rallying behind the hashtag #TzuyuDeservesBetter.
JYPE has recently grappled with accusations of mistreatment and mismanagement of their artists. Just last month, fans of ITZY expressed their concerns by sending a protest truck to the JYPE building, urging the agency to provide improved promotions for the group. Many Korean fans have expressed frustration at the company's perceived tendency to dismiss fan feedback.
Amidst this ongoing controversy, a Twitter account believed to be owned by Tzuyu's mother posted a cryptic message hinting at disappointment. This has led some to speculate whether it was a veiled critique of JYP. The post reads:
"Full of hypocrisy, words blow like the wind, lies are woven like the vast starry sky. Your promise is like a bubble, bursting at the touch of a finger, hard to believe. Like dandelion seeds in the wind, ethereal and dancing in the wind. The ingenuity of language is like a novelist weaving lies. Words are like a maze, always getting lost in them. The way to find the truth is hard to find.
Unbelievable behavior, excuse for delay, end of plan. Lack of integrity has become your habit, but I am a character in your lies, and I have been involved in it. Alas! The art of writing novels is impressive in its creativity and its imaginary world is wonderful and wonderful."
Fans are hoping that JYPE addresses the concerns surrounding the alleged lack of support for Tzuyu, especially given the company's history of sidestepping issues. They recall how JYPE remained silent in August amidst speculations of Tzuyu's dating life, and hope for a more proactive response from the agency this time around.
I semi-agree with netizens this time, itzy and twice DO need more solo promotions but with all the busy stuff they have rn and the fact they're already overworked this'll probably add fuel to the fire. If jyp promotes both yuna and tzuyu more with solo promotion who KNOWS how much more popularity they would have by now, I mean just look at what happened when yuna did that maknae collab stage and her u-go-girl performance
