G-Dragon (also known as GD, real name Kwon Ji Yong) is currently under police investigation for alleged drug use, which has brought renewed attention to a statement made by Han Seo Hee during the trial of Yang Hyun Suk.

On August 8 last year, during a trial involving Yang Hyun Suk, Han Seo Hee — who previously raised drug purchase suspicions regarding artist B.I — referenced G-Dragon in her testimony. B.I later received a three-year probation in September 2021 for acquiring marijuana and LSD.

Yang Hyun Suk faced charges of trying to intimidate and coerce Han Seo Hee into concealing B.I's drug use, violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Specific Crimes. Though initially exonerated, the prosecution appealed the decision, urging a three-year imprisonment for Yang Hyun Suk in the appellate trial.

During the proceedings, it was noted that Han Seo Hee had been summoned to the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office in August 2016. The prosecutor inquired if Han Seo Hee recalled being directed by YG Entertainment to deny her allegations against B.I.

In her reply, Han Seo Hee stated that while her memory was fuzzy, she recollected Yang Hyun Suk, suggesting something similar after the investigators left. Unexpectedly, Han Seo Hee introduced G-Dragon into her testimony, implying his involvement with marijuana. She claimed that an individual named Shin OOO, a friend of G-Dragon, supplied the superstar with marijuana, questioning why she was being targeted instead of G-Dragon.

The testimony, though initially drawing attention, eventually faded from public view. But recent investigations into G-Dragon's alleged drug use have rekindled interest in her statements.

Currently, the Incheon Police are examining potential drug use among celebrities. Legal action has been taken against Doctor A, who is believed to have provided drugs to actors, including Lee Sun Gyun and G-Dragon.

G-Dragon has claimed that there is no truth to the allegations of drug use. His legal representative, Kim Soo Hyun of the law firm K1 Chamber, stated on October 27, saying, "In response to news that has been indiscriminately spreading in the media recently, which is not based on facts, we would like to convey G-Dragon's position as follows."

In the statement, G-Dragon stated, "I have not used drugs," and added, "Furthermore, I would like to clarify that the recent news reports about 'violation of drug control laws' have nothing to do with me. However, I am aware that many people are concerned, so I will actively cooperate with the investigative agencies and earnestly comply with the investigation."

G-Dragon had previously been investigated for smoking marijuana in 2011 but received a suspended indictment at the time. G-Dragon's side explained that he had taken a few puffs of a cigarette during a drinking session with young Japanese people during a Japan tour, out of courtesy. He claimed he did not know that the cigarette was marijuana at the time.

Han Seo Hee, who previously aspired to be a celebrity, admitted to drug use on several occasions. In 2016, she smoked marijuana with former iKON member B.I and later used marijuana with former BIGBANG member T.O.P, with whom she had a romantic relationship. She received a three-year probation sentence at the time. In 2021, she was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for using drugs again during her probation. While she appealed the verdict, the Supreme Court confirmed the 1-year and 6-month sentence in July last year. In September of the same year, she was sentenced to 6 months in prison for a third drug use offense. Her sentence is expected to end next month.
