On the 31st, Park Ji-yoon, through her agency JDB Entertainment, submitted a divorce mediation application to the Jeju District Court the day before.
Park Ji-yoon expressed her apologies, saying, "I feel sorry to bring bad news to those who have watched over and supported our family for a long time."She continued, "After a long period of contemplation, I have decided to go through the mediation process for divorce with Mr. Choi Dong-seok. I apologize for the news becoming public before a peaceful resolution is reached, but I hope that we can support each other as parents for our children in our respective places."
She further stated, "I do not want our children to be hurt by unfounded rumors and false information that harm our children's identities. We will strongly address any rumors and false information that may affect the identities of both me and my two children. We have communicated through various channels for a long time, but there have been no moments as difficult as today to speak. I am once again sorry that I couldn't bring good news during this tough time."
She also said, "In the future, I will repay with better activities as a broadcaster and pour more love and effort as the mother of my two children."
Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok both entered KBS as announcers in 2004. They dated for four years and got married in November 2009, eventually having one son and one daughter.
