BMW Korea removes G-Dragon's promotional videos from their YouTube channel

AKP STAFF

After Big Bang's G-Dragon was entangled in drug-related charges, it inevitably took a toll on his advertisement commitments. Subsequently, on October 26, BMW Korea took decisive action by making their promotional videos featuring G-Dragon as a model, private on their YouTube channels.

Chanel
has not removed G-Dragon's promotional videos from their official channel, as he has been their ambassador for a long time. However, they have stated their awareness of G-Dragon's drug-related case.

Engaging closely with Chanel, G-Dragon attended their 2023-24 Cruise Show in May. Moreover, he also held the responsibility of being a promotional ambassador for BMW Korea's newest campaign, 'New XM.' The repercussions of G-Dragon's charges are clearly visible in the actions of these high-profile brands.

Given the circumstances, the impact of these charges will likely translate into significant professional setbacks for G-Dragon.

His image may take a hit, along with potential legal consequences, leading to further repercussions in his lucrative endorsement career. As the situation develops, fans and the industry await further clarification.

Meanwhile, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit announced that G-Dragon is under investigation for violating the Drug Control Act on October 25. G-Dragon had previously received a suspended sentence for marijuana use in 2011.

That's the thing with endorsements, it's a 24/7 kind of job. I shudder to think the amount of financial penalties these brands will charge GD for this if they choose to drop him...

I think that both him and the brands he represent, should be careful as the contracts were probably crafted very well...see BMW Korea, just made his promotional videos private, they didn't say anything about dropping him. Seeing as how this is not his 1st time going through this, his 2011 incident may very well have taught him a thing or two. So right now it's just speculation and everyone should be careful...media and people weighing in until the investigation is over. Just because his name was listed in someone dealing drugs cellphone, does not mean he was engaged in use. He's famous and police want to build their careers off of someone like him, so it makes sense to drag him...even it is determined later he did nothing wrong. This is publicity at the end of the day for South Korea. They don't drag everyday citizens who engage in drug use...they do this to public people and the citizen drag them and ruin them, when they didn't hurt anyone but themselves if it does end up being true. I hardly see how taking everything this man has earned away from him because he recreationally engaged in the use of illegal substances...illegal by his countries definition...and that is if he used.

A lot of people will want to fight with me over my remarks, but please don't...if you don't like it, just keep scrolling or go fight with the wall.
