On October 19 KST, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office formally indicted actor Yoo Ah In (37, Uhm Hong Sik) on five different charges, including the habitual use of illegal drugs. The actor's charges are as follows.
From September of 2020 through March of 2022, Yoo Ah In was administered medicinal propofol at a hospital in Seoul for "cosmetic procedures" on 181 occasions. Furthermore, investigators found evidence that the actor abused four different types of illegal drugs under the pretense of "medicinal use", including propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam.
From May of 2021 through August of 2022, Yoo Ah In was prescribed two different types of sleeping pills on 44 occasions under another person's name.
In January of this year, Yoo Ah In was found to have used the illegal drug marijuana in the United States with an accomplice, Choi (32), and 4 others, coercing others to partake in illegal drug use. Choi has also been indicted for illegal drug use, threatening witnesses, and attempted flight.
In total, Yoo Ah In will face trial for charges including violation of the Narcotics Control Act, use of marijuana and coercion of others, attempted destruction of evidence, violation of the Medical Service Act, and fraud.
In fact, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office intends on continuing the investigation into Yoo Ah In's suspected use of cocaine while the actor awaits his trials.
When I saw Yoo Ah In Veteran, I was like there is no way this guy can play this role so naturally. Turns out, his role in Veteran is probably how he really is.
