Actor Lee Je Hoon skips 'Busan International Film Festival' opening ceremony due to emergency surgery

Lee Je Hoon has skipped out on the 28th Busan International Film Festival's opening ceremony.

A representative from his agency Company On revealed that the actor went to the hospital on the evening of October 1 KST with severe stomach pain, where he was diagnosed with ischemic colitis. The medical condition occurs when blood flow to part of the large intestine is temporarily reduced. As a result, Lee Je Hoon successfully underwent emergency surgery, which lasted until early this morning, and he is currently recovering in the hospital.

Lee Je Hoon was previously scheduled to MC the opening ceremony of this year's Busan International Film Festival alongside actress Park Eun Bin. Instead of choosing a replacement, the officials for the film festival have decided Park Eun Bin would become the first solo host in opening ceremony history as well as the first female solo host of the festival.

Meanwhile, due to his surgery, Lee Je Hoon is also taking a break from filming MBC's 'Chief Inspector: The Beginning.' He will resume as soon as he recovers.
