A journalist asks Jini why she left NMIXX at her solo debut showcase

On the afternoon of October 11, Jini held a media showcase to celebrate the launch of her first mini-album, 'An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove,' at the Shinhan Play Square Live Hall located in Mapo-gu, Seoul. 

Jini, who originally debuted as a member of NMIXX in February 2022, suddenly left the group on December 9, 2022. After her exit in March 2023, she opened a personal social media account and formally recommenced her career in the entertainment industry in April. Her comeback was facilitated by an exclusive contract that she signed with United Artist Production (UAP).

Jini's sudden departure from NMIXX, followed by an ambiguous announcement of a promising new beginning, perplexed her fans. At the time of her departure, when JYP Entertainment was questioned about the reason behind Jini's abrupt exit and contract cancellation, they responded vaguely, stating it was due to "personal reasons." This explanation left Jini's supporters in shock- especially considering Jini had reassured her fans just a few days before her exit that she would persist in working diligently as a member of NMIXX.

From the viewpoint of her devoted fans, who had been supporting her since her debut, Jini's unexpected exit was strange, sparking numerous rumors about the reasons behind her departure.

During her media showcase, when journalists questioned about the reasons for leaving NMIXX and JYP, MC Park Seul Gi spoke on behalf of Jini and explained, "It's difficult to go into detail. It's a personal matter. Right now, we're here to introduce the album."

Jini also clarified, "It's hard to discuss this due to personal reasons, but I'm determined to debut as a solo artist this time."

In response to a question about what she would like to say to the fans who have waited and supported her during this hiatus, she replied, "First, I want to express my deep gratitude for waiting. I want to make many great memories together in the future. Please look forward to seeing me in a better light. I will come back better, so please have high expectations."
