XEED is a five-member boy group under Nature Space Entertainment. Debuted in December 2022, the quintet made their first comeback with the mini-album ‘BLUE,’ following the release of their debut album ‘Dream land.’

This comeback is with the addition of XEED’s newest members, UO and SHUN, joining DOHA, BAO, and JAEMIN. With their return, the boys are ready to embark on a fresh start together.

The album's title track, "BLUE," has a lively, tropical vibe with the members' fresh vocals blending well, making the song more complete while conveying a message of hope. The B-side tracks include “With U,” “You&I,” “Hold my hand,” and “Priceless.”

In commemoration of their first comeback, allkpop caught up with XEED to talk about ‘BLUE,’ the members’ thoughts on the release, live performances, and more. Read on below to learn more about the group!

allkpop: How did everything go for this comeback album, especially with the new members UO and SHUN?

UO: Having brothers by my side gives me strength and reassurance. I want to move forward step by step toward our dreams with our members.

SHUN: I'm so happy and thrilled to be active with XEED.

allkpop: Out of all the colors and names, why did you choose to name the album 'BLUE'? How would you describe this album and the meaning you want to convey through it?

DOHA: The first world I encountered when I came out of the bunker was blue. I think it's a concept of meeting new colleagues on the journey to find the long-awaited and hoped-for "Dreamland" and rejoicing in finding a ray of light.

allkpop: Since there are new members, I was wondering what your first impressions of each other were. Are UO and SHUN adjusting so well with the members? 

UO: Everyone looked very handsome, smiled well, and was kind. Since then, we have had meals together, practiced, and spent a lot of time communicating every day. In fact, each member is overflowing with consideration and friendliness. That's why I think we formed a bond in such a short time.

BAO: When we first met, I felt that with these members, we could overcome future challenges together.

allkpop: Were there any memorable scenes from filming the music video and recording of the songs that you could share with us?

DOHA: During the recording, UO was dancing while recording. That scene was impressive, and it made recording even more fun.

JAEMIN: During the MV shoot, it rained, but the rain brought fog, which really complemented the ‘BLUE’ vibe. I hope we get a chance to experience the 'BLUE' of rainy and foggy England.

allkpop: What are those that you want to achieve and do, be they goals related to your career or goals that are just for yourself?

BAO: I want to tour all over the world and work so hard that it feels like we're fighting a war.

DOHA: When our overseas fans organize a flash mob to our song, I want us, XEED, to go and collaborate with them.

JAEMIN: I really want to shoot a music video in England someday, especially with Big Ben as a backdrop.

allkpop: It's just been less than a year since you made your debut. What are the things you enjoyed the most in this career so far?

UO: I was most happy when I saw TVXQ's Yunho during our promotions.

JAEMIN: Going on a famous music show as a five-member group for the first time, seeing many seniors, and getting recognized by many acquaintances made me happy.

BAO: Fan meetings with our fans, Greenies, were amazing. Many international Greenies visited, which was both surprising and delightful. I hope many will come from England.

DOHA: Seeing the Greenies who came to support us all at once gave us strength. Although we were in the minority among the audience, they cheered loudly for us. I hope that the name XEED becomes more well-known and that we can meet with many international fans.

allkpop: Speaking of shows, you successfully held your solo concert in August! How did you prepare for it?

JAEMIN: As we begin our 'BLUE' promotions, we're preparing hard for concerts around various schedules, like events and fan signing sessions.

UO: We prepared diligently to show the diverse facets of XEED as a five-member group. The existing members are helping me a lot, making the preparations smoother.

allkpop: Speaking of stages, who do you look up to the most in the K-Pop industry? Maybe the performances of a K-Pop group you find amazing on stage, that when you see them on stage, you will be like, "I want to be as cool as them too!"?

SHUN: Watching BTS’ Jungkook achieve the number one spot on the UK charts and perform there, I thought it'd be great if we also had the chance to meet our fans in England.

allkpop: All of the members were born in the 1990s! How does it feel to make your debut as a 4th generation idol group? What was it like interacting with other idols?

DOHA: We're much prouder. I think we're the idols who can most definitely claim the true meaning of the term “oppa,” which our fans often use.

allkpop: Do you have any dream collaborations? It may be a song or stage collaboration!

JAEMIN: I want to perform with SHINee's Taemin.

UO: I sang Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" during an audition, and I'd love to perform it with her.

allkpop: Lastly, do you have anything else to say to allkpop readers and your fans worldwide?

BAO: In the future, I hope our songs will be played everywhere in the world.

JAEMIN: Our goal is to introduce XEED to the world, in front of the masses and Greenies, with even higher-quality stages and music for those who don't know us yet. We hope more people find comfort and hope through our songs.That's it from XEED. Love for allkpop! Thank you!
