FIFTY FIFTY has very publicly been embroiled in a major contract dispute with their agency, ATTRAKT. Despite their contentious legal battle, the band has still secured nominations in three categories for the esteemed 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA). This turn of events has galvanized considerable attention to the awards, particularly surrounding the prospect of FIFTY FIFTY scoring wins amidst their legal turmoil.
FIFTY FIFTY was a prominent feature among the nominations, as they were listed for 'Group of the Year', 'Song of Summer', and 'Best K-Pop' for their hit song "Cupid".
Things haven't been rosy for FIFTY FIFTY since their legal dispute began in June. The band successfully filed an injunction against their agency, ATTRAKT, accusing the agency of breaching the contract and damaging the mutual trust. However, in August, their plea was dismissed as the court deemed there was no cause for action, a decision which prompted an immediate appeal from FIFTY FIFTY.
Nonetheless, their continuous recognition by award platforms like MTV VMA acts as a beacon of hope. As one of the four titanic music award ceremonies in the United States an accolade from MTV VMA would serve as a resounding testament to FIFTY FIFTY's musical talent and influence, amidst the adversities.
