Suzy, colloquially known as the 'Nation's First Love', is set to captivate audiences once again, this time with a remarkable image transformation in Netflix's upcoming drama 'Doona!'.
The teaser trailer for the highly anticipated drama was unexpectedly released on Netflix Korea's official YouTube channel on September 21, rapidly gaining attention from eager fans.
Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, 'Doona!' is a romance drama that follows the story of a retired K-pop idol named Lee Doo Na (played by Suzy), and an ordinary college student Won Jun (portrayed by Yang Se Jong). Their worlds collide when they meet at a share-house, weaving a magnetic narrative that audiences are sure to love.
The teaser contains a compelling scene showing Won Jun captivated by Iduna as she soaks in the morning sun, a scene that has caught the attention of many. Won Jun's uncontrollable gaze towards Iduna suggests inklings of unresolved feelings. His dialogue, "It was my fault. Overstepping the mark without having the conviction to do so," coupled with Doo Na's dialogue, "Won Jun, let's be friends," and "I'm telling you just in case, but don't fall for me either," accentuates the ambiguous atmosphere between the characters and also hints at a complicated past.
One surprising element of the teaser sees Suzy, as Doo Na, holding a cigarette, a stark departure from her clean-cut K-pop image, which has sparked intrigue among fans.
'Doona!', featuring Suzy and Yang Se Jong's interpretation of the complex and alluring characters, Doo Na and Won Jun, comprises a total of nine episodes. This series is set to showcase their brilliant acting prowess and further captivate global audiences.
Viewers can look forward to the series showcasing more of Suzy's dynamic charm, as well as her remarkable image reinvention. The Netflix drama 'Doona!' is scheduled to be released on October 20. Undoubtedly, this drama will once again underline Suzy's versatility as an actress and her continuous evolution in the entertainment industry.
I’m excited for this one, I remembered watching an interview with the creator of this manga, when she said SUZY was an inspiration when she was writing this manga, based on the teaser this is something I’m looking forward to, I’m amazed on her growth as an actress, and how diligent and grateful she is with everything and everyone! And cool that this will be shown exactly 10 days after her birthday :)
