BJ and former idol 'A' has been charged with falsely accusing the head of her agency of rape.
According to reports on September 15, a woman in her 20s was recently indicted without detention on the charges of false accusations by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Women's Child Investigation Division 1. It's reported 'A' belonged to a girl group in the mid-2010s and became a BJ (broadcast jockey/live streamer).
'A' is accused of falsely suing her agency head 'B' for attempted rape. According to 'A', 'B' attempted to sexually assault her at the company's office this past January. After police investigation, 'B' was found innocent after considering evidence, including CCTV, messenger conversations, and other transcripts.
The investigation found the two entered the office together on the day of the alleged incident and left without any indication of sexual assault. 'A' claimed to have pushed 'B' and ran out of the office, but CCTV footaged showed him simply opening the door and leaving. Even after leaving the office, the two were seen touching each other while waiting for a substitute driver.
A few days later, 'B' recommended 'A' discontinue her work schedule as he allegedly worried about her stress level at work, but 'A' reportedly took it as a dismissal notice. She then decided to file a false complaint with the police in February.
'B' is said to have suffered economic and psychological damage with a number of BJs leaving the agency after 'A' filed her complaint.

False accusers of sex crimes should be subject to a punishment of equal magnitude for the reported crime itself.
