Netizens are discussing the first-week sales of The Boyz' latest album.
On an online forum, netizens are noticing a graph indicating the sales of all The Boyz' albums and the recent figures of their 2nd full album 'PHANTASY,' featuring the title track "LIP GLOSS." Starting from August 7, the album has sold 304,800 copies in total, unable to surpass the record made by their previous "THRILL RIDE" promotions from 2021, which has sold a total of over 523,600 by the end of the first week.
This record made by "THRILL RIDE" is the highest figure for The Boyz' first-week album sales, followed by their 2022 album for "WHISPER." Albums for "MAVERICK" and "ROAR" have also made higher first-week figures than their latest release, despite it being their 2nd full-length album. The graph below shows the figures comparing all of their comeback sales in the first week.
Moreover, netizens are commenting that it is 'already the last day of the first week' and that fans are hoping the number for "LIP GLOSS" would grow to at least 400,000.
Netizens are also ironically surprised that their latest album has a whopping 17 different versions. Some fans are also pondering "why The Boyz has relatively less international fans" and why their album sales are surprisingly lower than their digital sales.
More reactions include:
"I can't believe these are figures for a full-length album"
"I think their company is the problem"
"Their concepts look elegant but their fashion stylists ruin it all"
"I just hate the company this time around...so many weird things have happened and the timing wasn't right"
"How come they are not attracting as many international fans?"
"Wrong marketing and promotions"
"I am so sad"
"Aren't these figures still good though?"
Which album from The Boyz is your favorite?
honestly, the comeback was extremely poorly planned and rushed figuring they were on tour literally right before the comeback but it also does not help that ist is doing little to no promotion for this comeback and the amount of stuff that happened within the week before it released 🤷 but also.. why is everything ab album sales now?!@# if the music is good then i will listen instead of spending thousands of dollars or whatever on some silly little book and photocards
