Kim Tae Ri and Hong Kyung cast as voice actors in Netflix's first Korean animated movie

Netflix has confirmed the addition of actors Kim Tae Ri and Hong Kyung to the voice cast for its first Korean animated film, 'Necessary for This Star' (literal translation). The film poignantly illustrates an interstellar love story between an astronaut and a musician.

Kim Tae Ri will be venturing into voice acting for the first time and portray Nan Young, a scientist selected for the 4th Mars Exploration project in 2050. Nan Young's life's goal is to journey to Mars to uncover traces of her mother, who tragically failed to journey back to Earth due to an unforeseen accident.

Opposite Kim Tae Ri, Hong Kyung will voice the character Jay, a musician also known for repairing retro audio equipment. Jay's love for Nan Young blooms after an accidental meeting and further nurtured by a fateful reunion through a cherished memento, a turntable.

'Necessary for This Star' will premiere on Netflix.
