Following the criminal complaint filed against ATTRAKT CEO Jun Hong Joon, FIFTY FIFTY posted a handwritten letter personally addressing their position.
The letter was posted on Instagram under the account fifi_fifi1118 with the caption, "Hello, we are Keena, Saena, Sio, and Aran of FIFTY FIFTY. We hope that you will be kind enough to understand us conveying our situation in this way. Thank you."
The members first apologized for causing much concern and explained they decided to share their position through the letter after much thought.
The letter reads:
"Hello, This is Keena, Saena, Sio, and Aran of FIFTY FIFTY.
First, we want to say sorry for causing great concern to everyone who loves us. We, FIFTY FIFTY members, decided after much hesitation to take courage and share our position since there are fans who still believe in us and are waiting for us.
We understand that many fans are feeling confused due to the reports of various media outlets currently.
We are also going through difficulties day by day, feeling indescribable misery amid the snowballing misunderstandings and accusations.
However, despite these difficulties, we believe that there is a truth that must be revealed.
We believe that if the truth is transparently revealed, the fans will also understand and support us even more.
FIFTY FIFTY members received undeserving love and encouragement from fans.
Also, there are many people around the members who are working hard to help. We have never forgotten for a single moment how grateful and precious the fans and all those who are helping us are.
We cherish these feelings and want to repay our gratitude by working more diligently in the future.
However, prior to that, we want to correct the things that have been forced in the wrong way through the relationship with the agency through this incident. The inevitable choice we made was to protect our music.
Currently, there is so much false information in media articles and social media that is being reported. Nevertheless, we have refrained from commenting on the termination of the exclusive contract.
This does not mean we acknowledge the information or accept the media reports that are being reported so far.
We thought that fighting in court based on the facts was the right way to resolve this situation.
We expected that the truth would be revealed during the trial process and that our legitimate rights would be guaranteed, and we will continue to submit it.
By doing so, we will continue to make efforts to clearly resolve false suspicions and misunderstandings. We earnestly ask you to remove excessive criticism based on false suspicions and misunderstandings and to observe the circumstances objectively.
Currently, all of our members are united with one heart and one mind, relying on each other and standing firm.
Our sincere wish is to work as sincere artists in a trustworthy environment. Our members will do their best until the end to make this wish come true. We will do our best to come back in good shape so that we can repay the people who watch over us.
Thank you."
With this latest handwritten letter, Korean netizens are starting to wonder if there is an actual issue that was not revealed to the public. However, some netizens still doubt that FIFTY FIFTY has pure intentions in starting the provisional injunction to terminate their contracts with ATTRAKT.
Netizens commented, "Let's just pick season 2" "If it's this much, is there something that we really don't know..?" "But the court already revealed this 'other something' but people still can't emphasize," "What are they really thinking?" "They're firmer than I thought," "Is there something really wrong? What's going on?" "They should change their name and just go to a different agency. Also, the copyright probably belongs to the agency," "What's the reason they're taking it that far?" "What's really going on?" "To be honest, isn't it hard at this point even if there is some truth that wasn't revealed? it's not like the reporters would just leave it alone," and "I mean, if they really feel unjust, they need to bring out something like evidence. Even if the evidence that the court didn't reveal is advantageous to them, the public's already turned their backs."
Summary: Believe us, we are angels on earth, everyone is mean to us. We are not going to give you any real or verifiable information that we are wonderful and everyone else is bad, but you have to trust us because we have written a letter by hand.
