The real sibling duo made an appearance on the recent episode of JTBC's 'Newsroom' broadcasted on August 27 and shared heartfelt stories.
On that day, Suhyun disclosed that she had experienced a time of difficulty two years ago, to the point where she considered retiring.
Suhyun also confessed that her struggle is still ongoing and expressed her gratitude to Chanhyuk, who helped her endure it. She said, "My brother gave me a lot of courage." She continued, "My brother told me, 'This time, I'll help you make music that you enjoy,' 'I hope you feel joy in promoting,' which gave me the courage to continue."
She continued, "I always appreciate my brother for helping me get through this time," and confessed her sincere feelings, saying, "I will continue to work harder to make music happily and to be active."
Returning to the music charts after a hiatus, Suhyun expressed immense pleasure about their comeback single 'Love Lee.' She said, "After many disheartening years, the positive energy and response from 'Love Lee' have fortified me. I now firmly believe that the decision to return was correct."
She said, "I felt liberated when I first heard 'Love Lee'," and added, "Whenever I mentioned wanting to recreate songs like '200%,’ my brother would assert that encapsulating the same sentiments could be challenging. However, 'Love Lee' brought back the essence and nostalgic sentiment of '200%.' It filled me with joy and a sense of 'sudden resurrection.'"
On the other hand, on this day, Chanhyuk also expressed his deep affection for his younger sister, saying, "I wish that with this endeavor, we continue to produce quality music, sing heartily, and take pleasure in creating harmonious tunes for many more years to come."
AKMU, popularly known as 'real-life siblings,' received immense backing from fans who admire their strong kinship. Fans called them an "authentic sibling duo" and appreciated their remarkable camaraderie.
