On June 9 KST, production company N°3 Pictures confirmed with various media outlets that the BL drama 'Unintentional Love Story' will get a spin-off project.
A representative of the production company commented, "The spin-off will be filmed in the second half of this year, and we plan to reveal it in early 2024."
'Unintentional Love Story', released simultaneously via TVING in Korea, iQIYI in China, and Rakuten TV in Japan in March of this year, tells the story of two men who begin a fake relationship. The original production starred Cha Seo Won, Gongchan, Won Tae Min, and Do Woo. Currently, it's unknown what story the spin-off project will portray.
I'm here for it, but it's curious to see the popularity of these dramas given how conservative South Korea seems to be in general. I guess this is really hardcore Boys' Love like they have in Japan where the primary audience is heterosexual women, and the genre has little to do with LGBT+ causes.
