Netizens expressed worry that female K-pop idols are getting thinner with every newer generation.
The concern over the physical health and body image of female K-pop idols is not a new issue. It has been a topic of discussion for years, and it seems that with every new generation of idols, the concern only grows.
Recently, a video circulated online where the netizen discussed how female idols seem to get thinner with every new generation debut. Showing various idol groups from different generations, the netizen brought into limelight the fact that while there usually is one thinnest member in a group of several members, the newer generation female idols all seem to be as thin as the "thinnest" member of these earlier generation idol groups. Second generation idols mentioned included Wonder Girls and KARA, 3rd generation groups including TWICE, Red Velvet, and BLACKPINK, and fourth generation groups including LE SSERAFIM, aespa, and IVE.
What are your thoughts?
Netizens commented:
"These days, the idols are so thin to the point that I worry if their health is okay."
"There were always thin members, but ever since Blackpink everyone seems to go the thin route. Everyone is now talking about even their bone shape."

"All of them are trying to be super skinny and their styles are becoming less clothed."
"Female idols were always skinny, but these days they really are seriously thin. They're all thin like the thinnest member of groups originally.
"They seriously are super thin these days."
