Hook Entertainment CEO, Kwon Jin Young, has been transferred to the prosecution on drug charges, as reported by the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency on June 23.
The police have recently filed charges against four officials from Hook Entertainment, including CEO Kwon, for violating the Narcotics Control Act and have forwarded the case to prosecution.
Furthermore, four medical staff members at a Seoul hospital, who were responsible for prescribing medications to CEO Kwon, have also been sent to the prosecution, facing charges of violating medical laws.
The accusations against Kwon involve her alleged consumption of the psychotropic drug Zolpidem, for which she received an illegal prescription.
Last year in January, it was revealed that a Hook Entertainment employee had placed an order for 10 Zolpidem prescriptions under their own name from a Seoul hospital and subsequently obtained them. It has been reported that these prescriptions were then handed over to an employee who typically consumed Zolpidem.
The medical staff members who were transferred to the prosecution are suspected of prescribing Zolpidem on behalf of CEO Kwon, even though she had not submitted the necessary documents for a proxy prescription.
