Actress Han Hyo Joo has been ordered to pay additional taxes of 70 million KRW (~ $55,000 USD) after being audited by the National Tax Service of Korea.

For the past few years, the National Tax Service has launched an investigation into the tax accounts of various celebrities, suspecting that many were bypassing certain taxes associated property ownership by setting up paper companies. Stars such as Lee Byung Hun, Kwon Sang Woo, Kim Tae Hee, etc faced audits as a result of the ongoing investigation. 

It's believed that Han Hyo Joo purchased a building in Eunypeong-gu, Seoul in May of 2018 under a company owned by her father. However, the National Tax Service found reason to believe that the company owned by Han Hyo Joo was not a company under operation.
