NewJeans' Danielle recently has garnered much attention from fans and netizens after a poster for the Korean voice actors for dubbing the upcoming film 'The Little Mermaid' was revealed.
The latest teaser poster revealed that NewJeans' Danielle has been chosen to voice the lead character, Ariel, in the Korean dubbing of the classic Disney movie, 'The Little Mermaid.'
Although the actual image of Ariel's voice actor was not revealed, fans and netizens have already figured out it was NewJeans' Danielle just by her silhouette.
The decision to cast Danielle as the voice of Ariel has been met with excitement and praise from fans of both the movie and K-pop, as many say her voice sounded like a Disney princess voice. But some are concerned since NewJeans' Danielle has no experience in dubbing, especially in Korean.
They commented, "When I watched NewJeans' videos, I felt like Danielle sounds like a Disney princess a lot," "I like NewJeans but this is a bit different," "I hope she isn't so heavily criticized," "I hope this doesn't turn out like the animation film 'Your Name'," "Ji Chang Wook and Kim So Hyun are amazing actors but they even ruined 'Your Name' Korean dubbing," and "You can see why they cast her if you see her other videos. She has a Disney princess vibe when she talks."
Woww this is pretty major! Will there be a Korean version of some songs?
Hoping this sets the stage for a Halle–Danielle duet some day.
