Aespa's Winter raised fans' concerns with her extreme skinniness at a recent performance.
Winter appeared on the stage of Mnet's 'M Countdown', which aired on May 11 KST, and performed the title song "Spicy" and b-side song "Salty & Sweet" from Aespa's new album. While performing, Winter was styled in a plaid miniskirt with a pink sports bra top.
However, fans were concerned when her ribs were very clearly visible. Furthermore, at the end of last year, Winter was unable to perform at the Japanese concert due to her poor physical condition. Regarding this, Winter said at a press conference on May 8, “I have been fully recovered after resting, and now my health is very good.”
However, fans' continued to voice their concerns over Winter's condition, who they consider to be "too skinny."
On a Korean online community, netizens had an almost differing opinion.
"She's probably fine, she knows her own body best."
"Being skinny is a word to be avoided as much as being fat... so rude."
"Was she sick? T_T Even if she's skinny, if she's healthy it's ok but hearing that she was sick makes me worry."
"As long as she's healthy it's fine, I think she's pretty."
"Look at those thigh muscles, they look much stronger than other members."
"It looks painful, why didn't they give her something to wear over like the other members?"
"It's true that she's skinny, but there are so many women who are like this T_T"
"It's a little worrying T_T I'm about as skinny as that, and even though I'm physically skinny, I feel like I don't have as much energy as others... If she got skinny by dieting, it's better to gain 2-3 kg more for the stamina. I'm just talking from my own experience."
They're "worried" that she's skinny, but if she gains just a couple of healthy kilos, they'll call her fat, lazy, undedicated to her job, etc. Can't win either way.
