Ahead of his 'The End of A Dream' show in Manila, SS501 member and 'Boys Over Flower' actor Kim Hyun Joong sat down with the press for an interview.
Hyun Joong stated, "I was really touched since so many of my fans, even the media, waited and greeted me at the airport."
This was his second visit to the country, and he added that he was completely taken aback by his fame. "I am actually overwhelmed because one time when I was in Cebu, I rode a small boat and ate in a restaurant, but even the owner of the restaurant recognized me, saying, 'Oh, you are the one in 'Boys Over Flowers'?', which made me realize that even there, I am that well-known," he said.
Hyun Joong debuted as an SS501 member in 2005, the same year he also made his acting debut. After working for more than two decades in both fields, he said, "Before, of course, it was difficult for me to juggle both singing and acting at the same time."
Hyun Joong chose singing when asked which of the two he finds more enjoyable. The explanation for this is that "while acting, I have to play different roles, but when singing, I want to show myself to everyone." He also mentioned wanting to work on a new project this year.
He also added that the staff, production, and crew working with the K-Pop artists put in a lot of effort to promote the industry on a global scale, which contributed to the growing popularity of K-Pop.
On April 28, Hyun Joong completed his solo show in Manila, drawing a sizable audience waiting years to see him perform live. Among the songs he played were "Lead Me In Your Way," "Love Song," "One More Time," "Shine," and "Hello."
Kim Hyun Joong's 'The End of a Dream' concert in Manila was presented by Neuwave Events & Productions.
I’m glad he’s doing so well.
