X1 was a South Korean project boy group formed through Mnet’s reality survival show "Produce X 101" in 2019. The group consisted of eleven members from different entertainment agencies, and their debut album, "Emergency: Quantum Leap," was released in August 2019.
Regrettably, X1's journey together was cut short. In November 2019, an investigation into the "Produce" series uncovered vote-rigging, which impacted the final line-up of X1. Consequently, the group's activities came to a halt, and they disbanded in January 2020.
Despite this setback, the former members of X1 have remained undeterred in chasing their dreams. Currently, three of them have stepped up as leaders of other K-pop groups, showcasing their resilience and passion for the industry.
1. Han Seung-woo - VICTON
Han Seung-woo was the leader of X1 and also a member of the boy group VICTON. After X1's disbandment, he returned to his original group and took over as the leader. Han Seung-woo is known for his musical talents and has been involved in composing and producing songs for VICTON.
2. Lee Han-gyul - BAE173
Hangyul, a former member of X1, became the leader of the fourth-generation boy group BAE173 in 2020. As the leader, Hangyul has taken on a significant responsibility, leading and guiding the group. Previously, he was also a part of IM, the duo H&D, and the pre-debut group MBK BOYS.
3. Lee Eun-sang - YOUNITE
Lee Eun-sang was one of the youngest members of X1. After X1's disbandment, he made his solo debut in August 2020 with the single album “Beautiful Scar”. In 2021 Eun-sang made his acting debut, and in April 2022, he debuted as the co-leader of the rookie boy group YOUNITE under Brand New Music.
X1 may have disbanded, but the members continue to make waves in the K-pop industry. These former X1 members have taken on leadership roles in other groups and are making their mark with their talents and skills.
