On May 3, actress Kim So Yeon appeared as a guest on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block', showing viewers a completely different image than her 'Penthouse' character Chun Seo Jin.
On this day, Kim So Yeon shared loving stories about her married life with her husband and actor Lee Sang Woo, causing jealousy among viewers. However, her career in entertainment wasn't always full of happiness, as she confessed that she had struggled with "celebrity disease" during her early debut days.
At the same time, Kim So Yeon recalled instances when she was terrorized by fans of a popular, 1st-generation male idol group. She began, "I had filmed a short skit with members of an idol group who was very popular at the time. The skit had a scene where one of the idol members carried me on their back. After the skit aired, their fans were outraged."
Kim So Yeon continued, "They would come to the residential complex where I lived and write profane messages about me on the playground or inside the elevator. They wrote, 'Go die, Kim So Yeon'. When my mother saw what they had done, she would bring a scrub and erase it all, each time."
"At that time, I was promoting the film 'Change'. I went on a music program and sang the OST for the film with singer Jo Jang Hyuk, but it just so happened that the same idol group was appearing as the last act of the program that day. So the audience was mostly fans of that idol group. When I came out on stage, the audience went dead silent at first. And then, they are started whispering with one another. Eventually, they shouted, 'Get lost!', while I was singing," the actress recalled.
She then added, "When I looked back on clips from that time, it really seemed like I was singing with professionalism, not showing my emotions. But in reality, I was very upset."
