BLACKPINK recently held an interview with Bloomberg where they expressed their heartfelt feelings and pride in representing South Korea as the first Kpop group to headline Coachella this year. The superstars even mention: “It was literally a movie-like moment for us.”
Bloomberg began to address the group's great trajectory by mentioning:
"They were instantly successful at home and began to gain popularity abroad becoming pioneers of the K-pop phenomenon."
"Blackpink with its hip-hop infused tunes, catchy productions, partnerships with luxury brands, power in social networks and internet has emerged as a cultural icon."
"The world's biggest girl band set multiple Billboard chart records each year, their latest achievements being the hits Shut Down and Pink Venom from the Born Pink album released last year."
Kim Suk-young, a professor of theater and acting studies at the University of California at Los Angeles, added:
“No other groups can measure up to them, the younger generation’s love for their music, style as well as the message of female empowerment is growing."
As the interview was coming to an end, BLACKPINK cheered fans with a hopeful message that might be related to the issue of their contract expiration this year; in particular, they mentioned:
“We think we create the biggest synergy when there are four of us, we want to continue with the music that we love for a long time as BLACKPINK.”
BLACKPINK's determination to stay together and make the music they love is inspiring. Despite having massive hits as a group and individually, the almost familial bond of the four is more important to them.
