On April 17, Highlight's Kikwang successfully made his solo artist comeback with the release of his 1st full album 'Predator' and its title track of the same name. The album demonstrated a darker transformation for the Highlight member as he took on a sexy, alluring synth wave genre.
However, some netizens have pointed out that there are suspicious similarities between the concept of Kikwang's 'Predator' album and MV, and the concept from SHINee Taemin's 3rd mini album 'Advice', released in May of 2021.
Some "similar" conceptual items pointed out by netizens included the use of a black mask covered with chains, dark paint and tattoos, props such as a medieval sword, and similar concept photos or MV scenes.
Some netizens commented in response,
"There are too many similar styles and concepts between two single albums for it to be a coincidence."
"The details are honestly so close in resemblance that it goes way beyond just 'inspiration'."
"Taemin's concept at that time was so unconventional and unexpected that it was a huge topic of debate. If you're going to copy something, you should choose something that is less well-known?"
"When I watched [Kikwang's] MV I immediately thought of Taemin."
"Every element here is too unique and too similar for it to be coincidental."
"A few of the scenes and images can seem like common concepts used in K-Pop, but to have all these visuals line up is honestly strange."
"He totally copied Taemin."
"I would believe it if those scenes and images were teasers for individual members in one group."
"I still remember when 'Advice' first dropped. I wasn't into it, but the concept itself was one-of-a-kind. Nowadays, that kind of concept is more 'popular', but that doesn't meant you can just copy what you think is good."

It's a total copy. I heard they are friends so how did he not notice how similar it is to taemins advice? Even if he didn't work on the MV. Taemin worked his ass off to come where he is right now. He doesn't deserve to be copied. He's unique.
