BY4M Studio, who was suspected of having made prior contact with former LOONA member Chuu for the purpose of signing a contract, has promised that they will not reach out to other LOONA members for the purpose of signing exclusive contracts with them.
According to an industry insider on April 4 KST, BY4M told the Korea Entertainment Management Association's Reward, Punishment Adjustment and Ethics Committee (KMA) they had no prior contact with LOONA, and that they would not enter into contractual relationships with other members in the future.
Previously, Blockberry Creative had requested that the KMA not allow BY4M to contact other LOONA members. Of course, a number of members other than Chuu also filed a provisional injunction against Blockberry to suspend the validity of their exclusive contract.
In response, it is known that the KMA took into account the fact that this could disrupt the order of the industry, and asked BY4M to submit a document specifying the details.
Meanwhile, the dispute between Chuu and Blockberry is expected to lead to a long-term battle. According to the legal community, Chu made a decision to refer for mediation ahead of the civil lawsuit filed against Blockberry to confirm the non-existence of the exclusive contract. However, as Chuu and Blockberry failed to reach an agreement on the mediation date, the legal battle continued.
The conflict started in January of last year when Chu filed an application for an injunction to suspend the exclusive contract against Blockberry. Since then, Blockberry's side has submitted a petition containing Chuu's ban on activities to the KMA, and claims that Chuu contacted BY4M in advance to sign a new contract.
