With the end of the Mnet idol competition program 'Boys Planet', the trainees of RedStart ENM have plans to greet their fans soon through their first, pre-debut fan meeting, being held in both Korea and Japan.
In light of the upcoming fan meeting, RedStart ENM trainee Kum Joon Hyeon shared his thoughts and reflections about his participation on 'Boys Planet', as well as details on both his professional and personal life.
Q: You finished 14th overall on 'Boys Planet'. You must have felt disappointed that you did not make it into ZEROBASEONE.
A: "I was okay with it, but I felt apologetic toward all of the fans who worked so hard and voted for me. My mom wasn't too shocked about it either, which was good I guess (laughter). I remember that day, there was a blonde fan on the second floor who cheered me on wholeheartedly, and I felt so bad that I could not look in that direction."
Q: You also appeared on various projects as a child actor in the past. Do you plan to continue acting in the future?
A: "One of the reasons I wanted to become a singer was that acting was very stressful for me. But my grandmother said she wants to see me on a morning drama one day, so I suppose I have to at least play the male lead in a morning drama once, so I can be the 'best grandson'."
Q: You went to Hanlim Multi Art School, and you were in the same class as NewJeans's Minji.
A: "Minji debuted before me and became a huge star. I saw her on graduation day, and I thought, 'I'm gonna become a huge star too'. I remember Minji helped me once. I needed to use my phone for something, but the battery was almost dead so I sent a message in our class group chat room, asking, 'Sorry, can someone lend me a portable battery?'. Minji came and lent me her battery, and said, 'You can use mine'. I should also mention that she even gave me autographs to give to the other contestants on 'Boys Planet', because they kept asking me. I was super grateful."
Kum Joon Hyeon, Kim Min Seong, Hong Keon Hee, and Choi Woo Jin of the RedStart Boys will be holding a fan meeting in Korea on June 10, and in Japan from June 24-25.
