Renowned director Na Hong Jin of the 2016 hit horror film 'The Wailing' has assembled an impossible team for his newest project, 'Hope' (working title)'.
On March 30, film distributor Plus M Entertainment confirmed that it has sealed a deal with Na Hong Jin and his very own production agency, Forged Film.
'Hope' tells the story of residents in a secluded port village, Hopo. One day, people discover an unidentifiable creature on the village outskirts and begin an investigation, only to face destruction. Regarding the motif for his new project, Na Hong Jin revealed, "In many places in society, we discover that one person's good will can experience disagreement, then destruction. This film will attempt to capture such a phenomenon."
First, veteran stars of the Korean film industry including Hwang Jung Min and Jo In Sung will lead the cast. They're joined by one of the biggest rising stars in film around the world, Jung Ho Yeon, as well as the talented Hollywood couple, Michael Fassbender ('12 Years A Slave') and Alicia Vikander 'The Danish Girl').
Also bringing on board camera director Hong Kyung Pyo of 'The Wailing' and 'Parasite', Na Hong Jin's 'Hope' is expected to begin filming some time later in 2023.
