Chun Woo Won, the grandson former South Korean president Chun Doo Hwan has created much stir after exposing his family secrets and corruption. He revealed these secrets during a drug-fueled live stream, causing shock.
On March 17, it was revealed that Chun Woo Won is in critical condition after taking all the drugs that he had in his possession. At 5:00 AM KST on March 17, Chun Woo Won conducted a live broadcast on YouTube and said, "I will put a stop to drugs and criminals. I'm one of the criminals, so I will be the first to be caught. Also, I will take all the drugs I have and die." After he poured all the drugs into his mouth, he displayed hallucinatory symptoms while speaking gibberish and screaming.
As of 8 AM, Chun Woo Won's social media accounts have all been deleted.
Then on the same day, a post was created on the official website of Wooridle Church, where Chun Jae Yong, the former president's second son and Chun Woo Won's father, is an evangelist. In the post, the church asked, "Please pray for evangelist Chun Jae Yong's son Woo Won, who has been brought to the hospital but not breathing. Urgent prayers are requested."
About an hour later, an additional message was posted, "thanks to the prayers of our members, Woo Won's breathing has returned. We hope that God can be Woo Won's Father. We ask you to continue to pray."
His grandfather was found to have taken illegal money during his presidency and was ordered to pay a fine of 92.5 billion KRW (70.5 million USD), but Chun Doo Hwan stated he couldn't pay back the fine and had only 290,000 KRW (221.68) to his name. Chun Doo Hwan passed away in 2021 without paying back any of the fines. Chun Woo Won revealed that contrary to his grandfather's claims, the family has a lot of money, and they are enjoying a life of luxury.
Chun Woo Won has been exposing his family secrets through live stream starting March 14. He explained that he lives a luxurious life through his family's "Black money."

Goodness, that young man must have been filled with so much pain and regret to choose to try to take his own life in such a public manner. He didn't care how it would make himself or his family look, only wanting to expose them and then end everything. That's just incredibly tragic, and what's worse is that it makes you wonder what kind of support he will have (if any) if/when he is able to recover from his overdose. It's clear from his statements that he believes his whole family to be corrupt, and it's likely that the company they keep could be of similar circumstance. I hope he will recover and be able to find peace after all of this, it's clear from his actions his intent was to drop truth bombs and then end it all.
