GOT7's BamBam spoke out against the bad companies in the entertainment industry.
On March 30, BamBam appeared on the YouTube channel 1theK Original's show 'IDDP' to review his profile and also talk about his latest solo album 'Sour & Sweet.' He also took the time to explain and clarify some of the rumors and confirm the information circulating on the web about himself.
During the show, BamBam reviewed the comments left on various GOT7 albums and one fan wrote, "Guys, I'd cheer for you guys quietly no matter which path you'd take. I want to say I was so grateful for you guys for the past 7 years." BamBam responded, "Excuse me, we're still promoting as GOT7. It's like I'm given a farewell notice."
BamBam explained, "Maybe this was the time when we left JYP Entertainment. I think they wrote this comment because they felt anxious. Please don't worry. Everything's fine."
BamBam went on to explain the process by which GOT7 was able to promote as a group under their group name even after leaving JYP Entertainment. He explained, "So many people said, 'Thank you so much for not disbanding the group.' People also asked how we were able to get the name (GOT7). So we were able to buy all the rights to the name GOT7. That's why we were able to (promote as GOT7)."
He continued, "JYP Entertainment also did a great job in cooperating with us. That's why we were able to buy our name (GOT7)." BamBam added, "A lot of companies are thugs, to be honest. Even if they hold on to the name (of the group), they can't really use it but (there are companies) that say, 'You didn't renew the contract with us? Then we won't give you (the rights) for the name (of the group). I really don't understand that. That's why I think that JYP is a really good company."
Spill the tea Bambam. Makes me think back to DBSK when 3 members didn't renew w/ SM Entertainment and put them threw hell couldn't perform any of their old songs or appear on any variety shows it was so nasty to see. I think there was a court order SM put in and it was just so crazy how you put in years to debut and if you're not happy with something it's in your right to not renew but boy do some of these companies make you pay for it if that's the choice you make.
