A remake of the drama 'Princess Hours' (or 'Goong') is slowly but steadily becoming a reality.

Multiple entertainment officials recently hinted, "Among some actors, the story of auditioning for the drama 'Goong' is being discussed." One of the actors who is rumored to participate in the audition is said to have started full-scale acting preparation specifically with the goal of a role in 'Goong' in mind.

There were previous talks that the drama would be remade with the production company Group8 two years ago in 2021. However the production schedule could not be promised due to adverse factors such as COVID-19 overlapping. However, as news of the audition for 'Goong' came in, expectations for full-fledged production were raised.

In this regard, an official from the production company Group8 said, "Currently, the 'Goong' remake is in the planning stage. There are many works in production, so it is difficult to produce within this year, so it is likely to be early next year at the earliest. However, variables still exist in the meantime." If production begins early next year, it is expected to be available in the middle or second half of 2024.

'Goong' was aired as a drama starring actors Joo Ji Hoon and Yoon Eun Hye, and it received a lot of love, recording its highest viewership rating of 27.1%.
