iKON spoke with '1st Look' magazine about their decision to remain together even after leaving YG Entertainment, their plans for 2023, and more.
Landing on the cover of the magazine for its 252nd volume, iKON effortlessly exuded a quiet and soft charisma. On their plans for 2023, the group revealed, "We are full of passion. I'm sure that we all share the same mindset, 'Let's fill up this year with passion'. Finally, we can promote as much as we want to make up for all of the years when we could only promote periodically. We are already preparing all kinds of content. One thing that has changed is that we cannot resolve problems and move forward unless we make decisions together. From one to ten, the amount of time that we spend having group meetings and making decisions has increased so much. And that time is also a time for us to learn how to work together from now on, which itself is fun."
The members further shared their decision to move to 143 Entertainment to continue their group activities. "We talked it through very carefully, and during some of the changes we experienced, we encountered difficulties. But because we dreamt the same dreams at the same time, we were able to stay together as iKON. Luckily, each member agreed, without anyone feeling differently, 'Let's stick together. Let's not get separated'. All decisions involve weighing the pros and cons. But it didn't take very long for us to make ours, because we did not have different views," the group reflected.
Finally, iKON asked fans to anticipate their first comeback of 2023, which will occur in April. "Right now, we can't tell you what stage we've reached in the process, but we are grinding, no breaks. On top of our album promotions, we have a lot of other promotions planned, so just wait a little longer and we'll see you very soon."
"We can finally promote as much as we want"
Where the YG stans that used to say its fine if their groups don't have a lot of comebacks, they're making a lot of money and are happy to not comeback as much as others?
