Rapper Yoon Byung Ho, known by his stage name Bully Da Ba$tard, was sentenced to 4 years in prison on drug charges.
A trial was held on February 2 at the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Court for Yoon Byung Ho’s charges of assault and drug use under the Narcotics Management Act. It was announced on February 3 that the court ordered the rapper to complete a 40-hour drug addiction prevention education program and an additional fine of 1,635,000 KRW (~1,309 USD).
The judge explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The defendant acknowledged most of the criminal acts, and the fact he reached an agreement with the assault victims were taken into consideration."
In July of last year, Yoon Byung Ho was arrested and indicted for smoking marijuana and administering methamphetamine at his home in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. During the police investigation, Mr. Yoon admitted that he had bought and administered drugs from a seller he knew through social networking services. It was found that the seller bought the drugs in a so-called "dropping" method in which the seller hides the drug in a specific place and informs the buyer of the location to take it.
Yoon has a history of being arrested and punished for drug use in the past and was already on trial for drug charges at the time of indictment in July of last year. In addition to cannabis and methamphetamine, it was investigated that he had also administered fentanyl, which is rapidly spreading as a new drug use in foreign countries such as the United States and Mexico.
Yoon Byung Ho made his name known through Mnet's 'High School Rapper 2' and 'Show Me the Money.' He also revealed his recent situation and side effects after confessing to taking drugs through the YouTube channel 'Skull King TV' in October of last year. Regarding the side effects of fentanyl, Yoon said, "I couldn't control my body temperature and suffered from nightmares when I dreamed. It felt like my bones were breaking, and boiling oil was poured on my body." At that time, he warned, "The moment you touch drugs, the devil becomes the owner of your life, not you."
Meanwhile, fentanyl is a narcotic analgesic that is administered to patients with severe pain, such as cancer patients or surgery patients. It has been widely used for medical purposes because it is very effective even when administered in a tiny amount.
As effective as it is, the side effects are serious, and it is known to have addictive and hallucinogenic effects that are 50 times greater than heroin and 80 times greater than morphine. In the United States, as large amounts of fentanyl were smuggled in from China and Mexico, a video of young people intoxicated with fentanyl walking around like zombies were circulating. That's why fentanyl is also called the 'zombie drug.'
Fentanyl is a death sentence, even in small amounts.
