Mnet's 'Boys Planet' is changing things up from other voting programs, and announced that idols on 'Boys Planet' will be chosen 100% through viewers votes.
On February 2, an online production presentation was held for the show.
Regarding how the show would differ from other audition programs, PD Kim said, “For the first time in a program that receives votes, an independent organization will conduct all voting and verification procedures,” in order to “separate the production and voting processes.”
PD Kim continued, “The difference from ‘Girls Planet’ is that the debut group is decided by 100% viewer votes. Last season, we voted separately for Korea, China and Japan, but this time without distinction, viewers’ votes will actually matter.”
“The trainees are decided by viewers’ votes until the debut group is decided. The result of this vote translates into 50% in Korea and 50% in other parts of the world," PD Kim said.
Responding to questions about how many will be in the final group, PD Kim answered, “I don’t think I can tell you the number of people in the final debut group. Please forgive me for not being able to tell you about certain details of the broadcast.”
Finally, PD Kim said, “The direction of our activities for the show hasn't been decided yet. I don't know which trainees will be in the debut group, so I think that will be decided depending on which trainees will be in the group. So I hope you look forward to this part.”
'Boys Planet' will be premiering on February 2.
