With the rise in popularity of the Netflix original series 'The Glory,' which depicts the story of a school violence victim seeking revenge, many school violence victims are stepping up to expose celebrities in Thailand.
One famous Thai actor is garnering much attention after admitting that he was a school bully. Pawat Chittsawangdee (age 23), a popular Thai actor who played the lead male role in many dramas, wrote on his social media on January 8 that he was a school bully.
He wrote, "I will explain what happened. I was a delinquent when I was younger. I played a lot of pranks that I wasn't intending to make people feel bad."
He continued to say, "It happened when I was in middle school. After bullying a friend, I was warned by the teacher and I was even punished by (being hit with) a stick. I even had to bring my parents to school. My parents and I apologized to the victim. This has taught me a valuable lesson."
The actor added, "The victim must have been hurt even until today. I am sorry. I will feel guilty for the rest of my life. I will never forgive myself. I apologize to everyone I hurt by the pranks I did while I was younger."
Recently, there have been many posts exposing various celebrities as being school bullies and committing school violence, with the popularity of the drama 'The Glory.' These posts have been created with the hashtag 'The Glory Thai' on social media platforms such as Twitter.
Pawat Chittsawangdee also released an official apology after a few individuals claimed that the actor bullied a classmate with autism during middle school. However, many netizens are criticizing that the actor's apology didn't seem sincere as he referred to his bullying as "playing a prank."
I mean at least he's being honest but I wouldn't want to admit that if I was an actor or in the public eye cuz that's a bad look. Ppl will be discouraged to work with you. But you know what, good for him. That's growth and it's important to admit your faults.
