Today, YG Entertainment teased the debut of their new girl group with a surprise poster. The girl group consists of 7 members and will debut in 2023.
However, YG has been planning to launch their newest girl group since 2019. In august 2020, YG Entertainment finalized trademarking 'BaeMon' alongside 'Baby Monsters.' For this reason, many fans started addressing YG Entertainment's new girl group with these two names. However, many people think this is a temporary name, and the girl group will eventually debut with another name.
Moreover, many girl trainees have been spotted in and around YG Entertainment's building in the last few years.
A few months ago, an image reportedly shared from the YG training room revealed more information about YG Entertainment's new girl group.
In a photo of a whiteboard, there was the initial “BM” and also seven drawings with two letters in them. The first thought was that the new girl group will consist of seven members, and the letters represent the initials of all the members. In the last few years, many names rose up. For now, most people speculate these seven girls be a part of YG Entertainment's new girl group
1. Haram/Hyerin (Korean) (2006)
2. Prita (Thai) (2005)
3. Rora (Korean) (2004)
4. Ahyeon (Korean) (2002)
5. Chikita (Thai) (2004)
6. Asa (Japanese) (2005)
7. Mirin (Japanese) (2004)
The second thing noticed was the message from Yang Hyun Suk, chairman of YG Entertainment. In the quite blunt message, he wrote, “Do you want to go home after six years of training?”
The last thing that people noticed was G-Dragon's signature which was slightly wiped off. People think G-Dragon might be involved in the production of YG Entertainment's new girl group.
Many K-pop fans expect Teddy Park as the main producer of YG Entertainment's new girl group. Yet, there is a small chance Teddy will take care of YG's new girl group. Teddy has been the main producer and creative director of BIG BANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK.
However, last month THE BLACK LABEL, Teddy's music label, confirmed that they were looking for the last member of their first girl group through a new audition.
On the other hand, YG Entertainment has many other in-house producers, like CHOICE 37 and FutureBounce, so there is a chance that they will take care of this group. In addition, there is a big chance that YG has started working with some new producers that the public doesn't know about yet.
In the meantime, we should wait until January 1, when YG Entertainment will reveal more information on their upcoming girl group.
Will they also release each mini album per 2-3 years?
