BTS's V (Kim Taehyung) becomes the first K-pop artist to have two OSTs surpass 200 million streams on Spotify
BTS member Kim Taehyung, aka V, solidifies his title as 'King of OSTs' with his latest milestone.
"Christmas Tree," his OST for the 2021 K-drama series 'Our Beloved Summer,' has surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
Taehyung reached the milestone in less than a year since the song's release. This makes him the only K-pop act to achieve this with two OSTs, as "Christmas Tree" joins "Sweet Night."
Including "Singularity," his solo song under BTS, he has a total of three songs to hit the 200 million mark, achieving this before his debut album's release.
"Christmas Tree" was also recently named by 'Spotify Wrapped' as the most-streamed male K-pop solo song and OST for the year 2022. It was also the 8th most-streamed K-pop song globally this year, beating out title tracks and singles with huge promotions.
Taehyung's OSTs have been consistently popular for the past three years, which proves that his deep, soothing voice is perfect for moving viewers' emotions throughout crucial scenes in the K-drama series.
