The legend of 'Arth' returns in 2023!
On November 15, tvN officially signaled that filming for 'Arthdal Chronicles' season 2 is now under way with a set of still cuts of the drama's lead actors, including Lee Jun Ki, Shin Se Kyung, Jang Dong Gun, and Kim Ok Bin.
Season 1 of the blockbuster fantasy drama series, originally aired in 2019, followed the story of legendary heroes born in the ancient land of 'Arth'. During season 1, actor Song Joong Ki portrayed the role of Eunseom, while actress Kim Ji Won portrayed the role of Tanya.
Now, in season 2, the role of Eunseom will be played by Lee Jun Ki (along with Eunseom's twin Saya), while Shin Se Kyung will take over for Kim Ji Won in the role of Tanya. Additionally, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Bin, who played Tagon and Taealha in season 1 respectively, will return to pick up the story where they left off in season 2.
The story of 'Arthdal Chronicles 2' will take place approximately 8 years after the events of season 1, where Tagon successfully claimed the throne as ruler of the capital city. On the other hand, Eunseom has succeeded in uniting the 30 different tribes of 'Arth' and has risen up as the leader of the tribal union, and as a result, war is approaching.
Stay tuned for tvN's 'Arthdal Chronicles 2', airing some time in 2023.
I like Lee Jun Ki. I believe he will do a good job. However, Shin Se Kyung is questionable. I am sure there were more suitable replacement who can actually express emotions through their acting. SSK is not really adept in it.
